We are excited to let you know that Ms Rachel Payne, MP for South-Eastern Metropolitan electorate of Victoria, and a member of the Legalise Cannabis Victoria party, has continued to advocate for our petition in Victorian Parliament and with the Victorian Government. Today Ms Payne met with the Victorian Minister for Health, Ms Mary-Anne Thomas, to talk about the outcomes our petition seeks. Resulting in the opportunity for advocates of the petition, including survivors, to soon meet with the Victorian Minister for Health, along with the CEO of Sexual Assault Services Victoria. Who has been advocating for the outcomes our petition seeks for many years.
At the same time, Ms Zoe Daniel, Federal MP for Goldstein, had sent a letter to Ms Thomas and some Federal ministers in support of our petition, after attending a Victorian Survivors and Supporters lunch recently.
Since our petition started on 1 February 2022, we've had our petition tabled in Victorian Parliament by then MP Stuart Grimley, and we've made numerous phone calls and sent up to100 emails or more, asking to meet with the Victorian Minister of Health.
The members of parliament who represent us in Victorian and Federal Parliaments really matter, as they can amplify community voices and open doors of government ministers, which we too often can't open on our own.

Thank you to all our 16,616 supporters, and Ms Rachel Payne MP and Ms Zoe Daniel MP, all of whom have ensured the community outcomes our petition seeks have been heard by Government ministers. And have opened the door for the community to meet with the Victorian Minister for Health in the near future.
