We have continued to communicate with members of the Australian federal government, Catherine King MP, Federal Member for Ballarat, Josh Burns, Federal Member for Macnamara, Amanda Rishworth, Federal Minister for Social Services, and Mark Butler MP, Federal Minister for Health, about the outcomes our petition seeks. In addition to copying in the relevant Victorian government ministers on our emails.

For two years we have not have received any response from the offices of, let alone the ministers of the Victorian government, about pilotting the full implementation of Recommendation 9.1 of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. In the Ballarat region and the Bayside region of Melbourne.

Yesterday we heard from the office of Catherine King, that our request for a meeting had been passed on, with the expectation of that being scheduled soon.

As Recommendation 9.1 states, the Australian government does have a role to play in for State and Terrority government to implement this recommendation in full. Which to-date, no Australian State or Territory government has implemented in full.

We'll keep you updated on our progress, and thank all our supporters who have signed and shared our petition over the past two years.
