We have made a detailed video explaining why we are petitioning for Victoria adopting a 'no wrong door' system approach, vital to make all mental health services accessible, especially for survivors of childhood sexual abuse living with complex post traumatic stress disorder (CPSTD). We detail why stigma and the symptoms of CPSTD create significant barriers to disclosure and professional help seeking.
We are not alone in advocating for 'no wrong door', and we share numerous Royal Commission and other Commission recommendations, and submissions from Victorian peak bodies and organisations made over the past 8 years, explaining how and why it can make a difference for so many Victorians.
As 'no wrong door' to numerous public health, welfare, social, and other systems already exists in NSW, we ask, why can't the Victorian State Government learn from, adapt and pilot what is already is working in Australia? We're asking for the pilots to occur in two communities devastated by historic, systemic institutional child sexual abuse, the Ballarat and the Bayside communities.
Soon we will be able to confirm the day in June OUR PETITION is being tabled in the Victorian State Parliament, by Mr Stuart Grimley MP, of Derryn Hinch's Justice Party. We hope many of our wonderful Petitioners and Supporters are able to join us in the public gallery, and on the steps of Parliament, on this exciting day.
Resharing what you need to know regarding the tabling of our petition.
