Our petition is about moving away from society continuing to rely too heavily on those who have been harmed creating awareness to create change, by their retelling and therefore reliving, of their childhood sexual abuse experiences that risks retraumatisation and setbacks in their healing.
By moving towards communities like our own 12,271 Petitioners strong community, speaking up and being advocates for survivors, families, partners and impacted communities receiving services and supports that are co-designed around their articulated needs.
Not the current situation where services are designed around, and therefore limited by, who provides the funding and the services.
Our community is being heard, with your support continuing to open more doors and create more conversations. This week it has included the possibility of our Petition being tabled in Victorian Parliament in the not too distant future, which we'll be exploring over the coming weeks. If that is confirmed, you'll be the first to know!
It also includes some Bayside institutions letting us know they support our creation of LOUD fences at their premises on Sunday 1 May. Another powerful way that communities like ours create awareness.
We continue to be so humbled and grateful for your support of our Petition.
Please continue to share our petition, it's working!
