Thanks to our 12,159 Petitioners doors continue to open, and every one moves us closer to meeting with The Hon. Martin Foley. We've lodged a complaint with the Victorian Ombudsman, that the Mental Health Complaints Commissioner's office advised us to do. Why it matters? The delay in implementation of a 'no wrong door' integrated model of of advocacy and support and counselling recommended by the Royal Commission in 2017, that NSW Health has already implemented, has undoubtedly cost lives of Victorian survivors through suicide and early deaths, that could have been saved.
The delay has also extended levels of illness, disadvantage, disconnection and suffering for Victorian survivors, families, and communities, (social, emotional, mental, physical, financial, legal) that could have been reduced.
You can view our video that summarises our complaint made on behalf of all Victorian survivors, their families and communities.
