It's been an amazing 24 hours since our Services and supports for survivors and communities - Beaumaris Victoria and neighbouring communities - impacted by systemic child sexual abuse, petition was launched!
Closing in on 500 signatures already, we could not be more grateful and humbled. Thank you too for all the comments and words of solidarity, care and support. We're also blown away by so many of our supporters sharing our petition and chipping in to support the advertising of our petition.
Today we reached out to The Hon. Martin Foley MP, the Victorian Minister for Health, a known advocate for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse, to start the conversation about what a meaningful, restorative investment in the lives of survivors, families, partners and the communities impacted, can look like. Including funding the facilitation of the co-design of responses, with those impacted within these communities.
We'll keep you updated on our progress.
Please keep on sharing our petition, which creates awareness of the urgent action that must be taken now to reduce the pain and suffering so many survivors and their families have lived with for so long, and prevent further loss of life.
With gratitude,
Sexual Abuse Survivors And Families (SASAF) group
