Action Alert! Seongnam, the dog meat capital of Korea, must stop their illegal & barbaric industry!
Although Seongnam Moran Market, the largest dog meat market in South Korea, removed all the cages where they displayed live dogs to be slaughtered on the spot, they are in business as usual. Dog meat shops, restaurants, and so-called "Health Centers" that sell dog soju are still operating while their profoundly indifferent and callous government turns a blind eye. You can see from the video of the anti-dog meat rally held last Saturday that they are teeming with customers.
In Seongnam, there are countless dog farms, slaughterhouses, markets, and restaurants where the dogs, who have been tortured their entire lives, end up being slaughtered in the most inhumane ways, such as by electrocution, hanging, or beating; and then thrown into boiling water – sometimes while they are still alive. In many places, dogs are being killed in full view of other terrified, caged dogs; and this takes place in broad daylight. In addition, many abandoned and stolen former pets end up in this industry and are subject to the same cruelty.
We cannot stand by while Seongnam continues to deceive us and inflict unimaginable cruelty on animals who consider humans guardians and companions. So we are now asking the Aurora government to urge Seongnam to stop the dog and cat meat industry in their city – an illegal, brutal, and diabolical industry.
