My name is Kyrylo Karanfilov, I’m a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and I petition the American government to remove from stores/warehouses thousands of relatively obsolete M60 Super Patton tanks and give them to Ukraine as part of the military aid package.
Abrams is a great tank but its gas turbine is costly to maintain and hard to repair. We had the same problem with Soviet T-80s and Ukrainian T-84 tanks derived from them.
M60 has a convenient diesel engine and its 105 mm cannon M68 which is a an American version of the British L7 can fire new shells capable of penetrating up to 400 mm of armour (HEAT shells) or 430 mm (modern APFDS shells).
They can be further modified with thermals and Ukrainian ERA.
Why let thousands of tanks rot in the warehouses and deserts?
