List Chronic Pancreatitis Under Palliative Care Now!

The Issue

Chronic Pancreatitis is a very painful condition, yet New York State Department of Health considers it a trivial disease. Chronic Pancreatitis patients have been targeted by NYS DOH, Governor Cuomo and other elected officials as undeserving of adequate pain management. They have sent warning letters to physicians stating we do not qualify for or are deserving of proper pain management, though chronic pancreatitis pain is worse than pancreatic cancer pain, according to multiple research studies listed in the National Institute of Health database. Those of us with chronic pancreatitis have been stripped of adequate pain management due to the fentanyl overdose crisis, a crisis caused by drug dealers lacing fentanyl in street drugs. Pain management patients rarely overdose or misuse pain medication as they are monitored with urine screens and pill counts. Regardless, New York State officials are spending all of their efforts stigmatizing and ruining patients' lives. NYS has essentially made it known chronic pancreatitis patients do not deserve to be treated under palliative care, though it is a painful, incurable, miserable condition. Please sign this petition to support chronic pancreatitis as a palliative condition. Stop punishing pain patients and go after drug dealers poisoning and killing Americans. It is domestic terrorism, poisoning Americans with fentanyl. Few drug dealer arrests occur and, instead, doctors and patients are targeted as easy scapegoats. Stop the war on pain patients, especially chronic pancreatitis patients! Go after the real killers and leave Veterans and pain patients to the care of their doctors. NYS is actually killing pain patients as part of their war on drugs when they need to focus on charging drug dealing murderers with domestic terrorism.
