The Next Step

The truly remarkable and immediate response to this petition has prompted further affirmative action to ensure our voices are all heard in the proper manner. We are happy to report the petition has been sent to the Paliamentary Petitions Officer to ensure that it conforms with the standing orders of the Senate. However, it is possible that we may have to reword some parts of the petition depending on a number of Senate rules (see link attached). Should we be required to address any of these items and/or change the wording of the original petition, we will notify everyone who has already signed to make sure the contents are still in line with the original beliefs and convictions with which it was first made (these changes won't be applicable to comments submited by signatories). So please stay tuned. Once again, we commend everyone for coming together so quickly and confidently on these matters and would like to remind you all that "Right is Might"!
