SENATE BILL DRS55027-LH-37A will probably die tomorrow

Thanks to your response, and a general feeling even in the right-leaning NC legislature that Dan Bishop's bill to enhance punishment for protests deemed "harassing or threatening" against former governors was drastic, it is likely that NC Senate Bill DRS55027-LH-37A. Today, I spoke with an aide to the Senator who, while willing to explain extensively what "harassing and threatening" means under the law, was unable to explain how protestors shouting "shame, shame, shame" at the Governor as he fled interaction with former constituents constituted an illegal act. It is all the same to us, because the unpopularity of Senator Bishop's legislation will be its own demise. I will post on Friday when we expect the legislative session to end with the quiet death of SB DRS55027-LH-37A. Congratulations.
