See www.FriendsofFrenchmanBay.org for most recent news. The State of Maine Transportation Committee voted 10-2 "ought to pass" on the Bar Harbor Port Authority Bill, LD#1400. This legislation now goes to the full legislature for a vote, between now and April. A Port Authority is not needed to build a Marina, and opens the door to basically anything such as Mega Cruise ship pier or Cargo. LePage met in Washington last year regarding Ports. Billion dollar cruise ship companies want Bar Harbor as a berthing pier, and off shore drilling proposed by the feds. We don’t think a Port Authority is needed in Bar Harbor. Please join us as we continue the fight, and consider making a donation. Thanks for all you do!
