We are so grateful and heartened to see the outpouring of sentiment for the preservation of our beautiful Bay and against the construction ofnthisbhuge pier in Bar Harbor. Frenchman Bay is the centerpiece between two parts of Acadia Natoonal Park, that on Mount Desert Island and furth north, Schoodic Point. We can't stop the current cruise ships from coming and anchoring in the bay, but we can try to stop this huge infrastructure project. The $30-40,000,000 cost of the pier will demand more and more ships to make a viable ROI for the initial outlay, and so much will be lost. The photo is the night sky close to where the pier will be lit 24/7 with intensely bright kleig lights. The experience of these Dark Skies will be ruined. Please continue to share widely our petition.
