Petition updateReopen Lake Mills Park swimming area and bring back the beach there. Are people in Winter Park/Orange County better than us Seminole County!?

As you may well be aware, Seminole County took away a long-standing tradition of the swimming area at Lake Mills Park. Yeah, they used various excuses and typical Political talking points and gave the usual run around as to why etc...

But, BS is very very easy to smell, especially if you grew up around Eastern Seminole County.....So, I am only left to come to the conclusion, that the City of Winter Park feels that their constituents are smarter and more experienced with the very unlikely potential of a dangerous encounter with wildlife. I find that interesting, as the photo is of a public swimming area known as "Dinky Dock" right next to Rollins College - to which people from all over the Country and even the World attend, many who have never even seen anything remotely rural.

I think those who grew up around Lake Mills and/or visited it, may know our local wildlife a little better, but perhaps that's just me.

Please 1.) Share the petition, as the Summer's just keep getting hotter and

2.) Realize that the City of Winter Park clearly feels you're a grown adult and can make grown decisions in regards to swimming such as at Dinky Dock Park (near Park Ave). https://cityofwinterpark.org/departments/parks-recreation/parks-playgrounds/parks/dinky-dock-park/

and 3.) Keep up the pressure on our County Commissioners, and remember them come election time for taking away one of our (at least to me) sacred experiences growing up here.
