GTbank should refund SMS charges for the month of April/May

On 26th of May, 2017, GTBank debited N32 from my account with remarks: "SMS ALERT CHARGE FOR 27APR2017-25MAY2017". This is a service I never requested for. Reached out to GTBank's customer care and I was advised that text messages were sent to my number as a result of the directive from the Central Bank of Nigeria on transaction notifications. "All Banks are mandated to profile all customers to receive SMS alerts and email notifications (GeNS) for their transactions".
While I welcome this guideline from CBN, GTBank failed to do their due diligence to notify me of this new directive before activating the SMS notification on my Account. According to the Consumer Protection Council, Nigeria, I have the right to be informed and because GTbank failed to keep me informed, I demand that GTB reimburse myself and other customers that have been debited as a result.
I want to request that everyone that has an account with GTBank and have suffered such fate as mine to please sign this petition to have GTB review their policy around notifying customers about any changes that might result in same incurring any charges/costs.
I want at least 1000 signatures to make sure that this is indeed an issue to be addressed.
