UPDATE — Demand Equal Treatment: Why Does the Western Release Feel Like an Afterthought?

THE DOUBLE STANDARD IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!
When Perfect World Games, Atlus, and Sega developed Persona 5: The Phantom X, they ensured the Chinese version launched with full Chinese voice acting alongside the original Japanese tracks. Yet, for the Western release, they cut corners entirely—offering zero English voice acting.
If a company can afford to produce multiple high-quality regional voice dubs for one side of the world, claiming they "cannot afford" an English dub for the West is a blatant excuse. It creates an unfair double standard where Western fans are treated like secondary customers who should just be grateful for translated text. A global franchise requires a global commitment.
WHY WE ARE PUSHING BACK?!
- Product Parity: We demand equal rules for all players. If one region gets a fully voiced experience tailored to their language, the Western region deserves the exact same standard of quality.
- No More Half-Measures: Localization is not just translating subtitles. For a narrative-heavy series like Persona, the voice cast is the soul of the game. Cutting the English dub strips away the accessibility and immersion that made the franchise a global phenomenon.
- Respect the Fanbase: The Western Persona community has supported this franchise for decades, turning titles like Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload into massive financial successes. We refuse to see our region treated as a low-budget afterthought.
TAKE ACTION: SHARE THIS EVERYWHERE!!!
We need to show the publishers that we see this regional disparity and we will not stay silent.
