Smithy Green Playground has been closed due to safety concerns. This playground has been neglected by the council for years and now it has been closed without any consultation due to safety concerns. 

As  Formby resident I use this playground regularly with my son. He loves going to the playground to ride his bike in a safe environment or play with his friends on the slide and swings. 

I strongly believe that Sefton Council should be investing in safe places for our children to play rather than neglecting them and closing them down leaving fewer and fewer facilities for our children.
