Secure Funding for an ICT Capacity Building Seminar for Abuja Secondary Schools
The Issue
The Civil Empowerment and Rule of Law Support Initiative, CERLSI is a Nigerian NGO working in the thematic areas of human rights, Rule of Law, governance and democracy. In the course of our work in Nigeria, we have witnessed firsthand the hardship faced by students leaving school without potential job prospects. With the growing technological world, we believe an ICT seminar can significantly improve the opportunities for these students.
Recent reports suggest Nigeria has a youth unemployment rate of 34.9%. It is essential to provide avenues, like ICT for potential jobs and self-employment, addressing a tangible solution to this crisis. Our initiative for the one-day ICT capacity building seminar is targeted at secondary schools in Abuja. This program could equip our students with necessary Information and Communications Technology skills, thus enhancing their employability in a rapidly digitalizing society.
Being the most populous African nation, Nigeria has a responsibility to lead the way in educational advancement. Funding this ICT seminar will help us keep pace with the digital revolution and can significantly improve the lives of our students — our nation's future.
Join us and support this proposal. Help us provide students with the resources they need to break free from the cycle of unemployment while fuelling the Nigerian economy. For a better future, sign and share this petition.
