On Friday July 1, a campaign to #BringBrittneyHome proudly cloaked Washington, D.C.’s, Capital One Arena in billboards demanding that the U.S. government secure Brittney Griner’s swift and safe release from detainment in Russia.
They remained up while our nation celebrated its independence on July 4, but they are coming down very soon. If you live in the DMV, can you help us to further the billboard campaign beyond its July 9th removal date.
Momentum is building.
Cherelle, BG’s wife, spoke with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris today. In its statement, the WNBPA shared: “And now hearing that both the Commander in Chief and the Vice President spoke with Cherelle today, we have a level of comfort that BG has not been forgotten. Now we must see BG, Paul Whelan and other detainees brought home. It’s been too long.”
Here’s how you can help:
- Take photos outside of Capital One Arena which feature the billboards prominently.
- Share your photos to social media using hashtag #BringBrittneyHome and #WeAreBG.
- CC: @POTUS Joe Biden and @VP Kamala Harris.
- Include a link to this petition and encourage friends, fans, families, and followers to sign it and share.
- Follow @TheWNBPA and @Athletes4Impact on Instagram and Twitter for updates throughout the week.
Thank you!
