As this campaign has evolved, I’ve learned so much — from experts, advocates, and many of you who’ve reached out with support and insight. When I first launched this petition, I called for Australia to restart local insulin manufacturing. It felt like the most direct way to protect families like mine.
But through this journey, I’ve come to understand that full-scale production here may not be realistic — not because it’s unimportant, but because of our population size, costs, and the global economics of insulin. That doesn’t mean we should accept vulnerability.
Instead, we must focus on what is achievable — and urgently needed:
✅ Transparency: Confirm insulin is included in the National Medical Stockpile
📋 Planning: Publish clear contingency plans for supply disruptions
🌏 Security: Negotiate long-term agreements with overseas manufacturers so Australia remains a priority during global shortages.
Local production may not be viable in the traditional sense, but local preparedness absolutely is!
This campaign is no longer just about supply — it’s about transparency, accountability, and protecting lives.
Local production remains a long-term goal, but local preparedness is essential right now.
💬 Please re-share the petition — the message has evolved, and we need fresh momentum. Every new signature strengthens our voice and helps push for real change.
Thank you for standing with Liam and I, and with every Australian who depends on insulin to survive as we refine our focus to what will truly make a difference - Your support means the world.
