At the moment South Korea has an Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn. However, on 9th May they will be electing a new President. We have to hope and pray that the new President will be compassionate to the plight of all animals in South Korea and pass new laws to protect animals from cruelty and abuse. We sincerely hope that the new President will follow the wonderful and compassionate example of President Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan who made an amendment to the Animal Protection Act, which meant that the human consumption of dog and cat meat is banned in Taiwan, and imposing severe penalties for those who flout the new laws. IT WOULD BE A MAJOR BREAKTHOUGH IF THIS ALSO HAPPENED IN SOUTH KOREA AND WOULD MEAN THAT THE NEW PRESIDENT WOULD ALSO HAVE WORLDWIDE RESPECT!!
