Parklets are on the City of Sebastopol agenda for this Tuesday September 20. There are 3 negative letters (from local businesses)  regarding the public parklet in front of Screamin' Mimi's included in the agenda . Currently there are no letters in support. These business's complaints are citing that the space only benefits one business. They feel that if all businesses are not benefitting, then it should not exist. It should be noted that these parklets are PUBLIC SPACE. Make sure that the city council understands that this is the public's space and should not hinge on the surrounding businesses opinions. 

They are also citing that safety is a concern. It should be noted that since the car accident in August, the town has reinforced the protective k rails. In addition to that , if these parklets are made permanent, they would be even safer. We are of the opinion that it is doubtful that reopening the road and allowing more cars to dart in and out of this tiny roadway would be safer. 

This is your space, keep it for humans, not more cars. Please make your voices heard.
