Seaworld, please save Wikie and Keijo !
Le problème
Seaworld, please allow Wikie and Keijo to join one of your orca pods !
We, cetaceans enthusiasts from all over the world, are extremely worried about the fate of Wikie and Keijo, France's last orcas living in human care.
Since 2015, Marineland Antibes's direction has been trying to rehome their orcas, mostly because of their habitat's structure being compromised and needing heavy repairs. So far, the Seaworld company always refused to welcome the French killer whales.
Ten years later, Marineland Antibes is now shut down and their last two orcas still live in a crumbling habitat that needs daily fixes and repairs; and no solution was found to guarantee their survival.
As the French government refused to move them to Asia and the Spanish government denied any move to Loro Parque, we beg Seaworld to reconsider its decision and allow Wikie and Keijo to join one of their orca pods.
We do understand that Seaworld is worried about their public image, especially after the Blackfish backlash that caused them to phase out killer whales. However, we think that saving these two orcas from euthanasia and offering them a new life would be the best possible way for Seaworld to show that they do care, indeed.
Please, Seaworld - do not let Wikie and Keijo die in a shut down park. Give them a second chance. We know you can.
