I thought it was important to let you know that the interim dean of MRC has decided to commemorate last year's sit in. These are her words:
"As part of our commemoration of last year's sit-in, and to serve as a resource for future scholars and student activists, MRC plans to work with the Special Collections at the SU Library to build an archive of the event. Eventually, we hope we'll be able to digitize some of the collections and make them available online, but for now we are gathering a physical collection of sources that together will tell the story of the protest. To help us do that, we ask you to give or send to Dr. Lieb copies of any materials--written documents (including printouts of webpages, or send us the link and we can print), photographs, art projects, oral histories, and any other ephemera--that you'd like to see preserved. Contact her at liebe@seattleu.edu with questions."
We would encourage you to ask questions, along with encouraging the support of Jodi, seeing as how she was cleared of all wrong-doing by an independent investigation. Apparently, there is no attempt to "immortalize" both sides of this event.
We are not done supporting Jodi. We are not done supporting Jesuit education. If you want to continue to stand for Jodi and Jesuit values, please contact me at dkmtwusa@gmail.com and I will keep you apprised of our efforts to clear Jodi's name, clear MRC of false accusations, and maintain the integrity of Matteo Ricci and the value of our Jesuit education.
