First Community Meeting about Fort Lawton Re-development reveals how much work we have

Tonight's community meeting did not allow adequate interface between the public and the city officials and this demonstrates the work cut out for us. Our voice is important and we are working on getting the public comment period extended to 45 days (currently ends on June 26 5:00 pm). Our goal is still to get a school proposal onto the Environmental Impact Statement. The Magnolia-Queen Anne school boundaries meeting was also tonight and the evidence of exploding student population demonstrates the need for additional infrastructure in Seattle Public Schools. This will be essential for our city to reach its paramount duty of delivering quality education to our children. Thank you for your advocacy and your voice.
