BACKGROUND:  Last year in the name of “safety,” SDOT put half of 35th Ave SW in West Seattle on a “road diet” (reducing the arterial from 2 lanes each way to a single lane with dedicated center left-turn lane).  They have announced intentions of reducing the lanes on the remainder of 35th.

NOTE:  THERE ARE TWO, PARALLEL PETITIONS, in order to create a “vote.”

PETITIONS:

1.       If you think the “road diet” has been a success and want it for all of 35th, please sign THIS petition.  And you are encouraged to give your reasons via the comment option.

2.       If you think it has made things worse, please go to the OTHER petition titled “SDOT, REMOVE the 35th Ave SW road diet.”  [Search Change.org for its link]

SPREAD THE WORD:  An amazing number of people were unaware of this project and the proposed changes, and were shocked to wake up to a different commute when it was implemented.  Please, PLEASE spread the word -- tell all your neighbors about these petitions so we can get a representative sentiment from the community!
