Hello all,
I've had some trouble getting change.org to send out emails of updates to those who have signed the petition, but I believe it's working with at least some of those who have signed. If you're receiving this update as an email (or seeing it on the main petition page), I want to ask for your help with a few things. We're so close to 3k signatures, and we're hoping to hit 10k eventually. You really can make a difference yourself! Even if it's as simple as sharing this petition with one other person, your help is of immeasurable value to me and to eighth grade spellers. We've had individuals share on social media and get us hundreds of extra signatures from one single post! That being said, here are some things I'd love your help with:
-if you haven't yet, please share this petition on any and all social media that you have. Send it to anyone you're comfortable sending it to asking them to sign as well.
-If you know of someone in PR or media or with a large following in some other way, please send it to them and ask them to share, or to email us at onemorechancesnsb@gmail.com with information on this person/people.
-Please consider following @onemorechancesnsb on Instagram, "One More Chance SNSB" on Facebook, and @2ndchancesnsb on Twitter, and sharing the profiles on those pages. There will be profiles of this year's 8th grade spellers on those pages, to give them some personal attention.
-If you do post on social media, try to use the tag #onemorechancesnsb if you're sharing anything related to it.
-If you're impacted by this personally or want to personalize your impact, write a letter to Scripps! They have received letters not just from this year's 8th grade families but also from others in the spelling community.
-If you want to help more in other ways, or have other ideas, please contact us directly at onemorechancesnsb@gmail.com.
We will be sending out occasional updates that include features of this year's eligibile eighth grade spellers in local and national media, including spellers who would've been returning finalists at the Scripps National Spelling Bee. We hope you are all staying healthy and safe, and we thank you in advance for any amount of support that you're able to give us.
