In all of this regarding the sale of Drumkinnon, I have been driven with the need to get people talking about it, to understand what this actually is, then, if the people of this area and Scotland decide its in their interests for it to go ahead or not, then at least it's a decision based on examining the facts. Not the usual sit back and let life roll on because a high paid officer or a rich man said so. Then a generation later greet. That's been the story of the vale for the past fifty years. I get so fed up with that 'whit can ye dae' moan..it grinds my gears to hell. Now to my mind a lot of people in the vale took a view that was the company/SE view, and then even started pulling their area down along with them and totally handing over the keys without even asking if there were any keys to hand over in the first place. I wont interfere any longer with people's decision making, I set out to make sure people thought about this properly. Im glad the elected reps say that are looking at it from the point of view of 'when its gone its gone'..,It's better for the SNP if they are allowed to speak. It's better if cross-party discussions take place too. Decisions are best made when all arguments are made. I've stepped back because for me it IS emotional, but its also economic for I fear for Balloch's - and Loch Lomond's future completely. The reps need to take this to the people, I feel we took it to the reps and democracy, and it has to be democracy, informed democracy that decides, not political infighting ,personality contests, or party lines. I have used the Greek Parthenon as my illustration...Scotland shares the same patron saint, love of democracy and enlightenment. In that spirit, let us all reach a decision.
