Hi All.
It has been utterly baffling to us, why the Scottish government and the relevant agencies, won’t stop logging, abandon plans for windfarm development and give the Clashindarroch forest and its priceless wildcats, the protection it deserves.
We can only assume that as usual it is down to money and so our legal team has repeatedly tried to obtain information about the financial dealings and arrangements between the government agencies and Vattenfall (the windfarm developer), surrounding the windfarm. We have faced delays, obstructions, false promises of information and yet the information that should be publicly available, hasn’t materialised. Again we can only assume that there must be something they don’t want us to see. Having exhausted all other channels, we raised a formal complaint against Forestry and Land Scotland ( the government forestry agency) with the Scottish Information Commissioner. We are delighted to say that the Commissioner has ruled in our favour and has instructed the government agencies to release the information that we have requested.
We are very interested to see what it reveals and it will hopefully lift the lid on why the government simply refuses to protect the last stronghold of the Scottish wildcat, the rarest feline in the world.
