It has been a great start to our field work season. This is our favourite time of year because as it gets colder, the wildcats get hungrier and are more likely to come to the mackerel fillet bait we leave in front of our camera traps. We are currently investigating a new area and we are delighted to say that we have got a new video of a beautiful wildcat. You can see the head stripes, the 2 stripes on the shoulders, a neat dorsal strip and just look at that tail. It is a beauty, clearly ringed, blunt ended and like a club. Fantastic. We believe there are at least 3 wildcats in this areas so this could be a real boost to the entire population.
