It’s a big day today as the Bern Convention committee starts to sit over the next 2 days and our complaint will be heard in Strasbourg. For the first time, the Scottish government will be held to account over it’s actions ( or lack of them) to conserve the Scottish wildcat. We will of course let you know as soon as we hear anything.
We are extremely encouraged that we are now getting major international media attention about the desperate plight of the Scottish wildcat. Have a look at the following piece in National Geographic which covers our efforts to save the Wildcat in the wild, where it belongs. The Bern Convention complaint and our efforts to get protected status for the Clashindarroch are covered. What is clear from the article is that Wildcat Haven is the only organisation focused on protecting the last remaining wildcats in situ and the only organisation brave enough to give the threatened remaining wildcats a voice against the government logging that is destroying their home.
