Dear All
We wanted to update you with the news that we have now reported the previous and current logging as alleged wildlife crimes committed by Forestry Commission Scotland. It is illegal to disturb a Scottish wildcat den site or even resting place. The recent and ongoing logging we have documented and informed you about, we believe constitutes a serious crime against the Scottish wildcat. The alleged illegal activities are particularly damaging as it is a crucial time in the wildcat's breeding season and the huge of amount of disturbance generated by heavy machinery, chainsaws and articulated lorries can cause stressed mothers to abandon their kittens. As the rarest cat on earth, every single kitten is absolutely priceless.
As well as reporting the logging as a wildlife crime, our legal team have contacted the Specialist Wildlife Crime Division where we have informed them of the logging, provided supporting submissions and also importantly have asked for a meeting to discuss this issue as soon as possible.
This petition continues to represent the unprecedented public interest in this issue and we hope that the Police recognise this and investigate. As you can see, like the wildcat we are fighting and tooth and claw to save the Clashindarroch and like the wildcat we won’t give up.
