Last week we announced that on the back of a complaint we made, the Bern Convention opened a case file to investigate alleged failings by the Scottish government to protect the Scottish wildcat. We have been so encouraged by your kind messages of support so thank you very much. We are very glad that the failings we have been highlighting to conserve the Scottish wildcat will now be under international and independent scrutiny. This has never happened before.
You have given us your support throughout this lengthy campaign and we always want to be as open with you as possible about the processes we are going through and the documents we lodge. It is also important that as our supporters, you have all the information to hand when sharing and discussing these issues on various platforms. The work of all the lawyers, ecologists and other professionals involved in getting this landmark case file opened, has all been funded by you and we have been humbled by your support.
However this is just the start of the process for getting the Scottish wildcat the recognition and protection it so badly needs. We are currently working on other significant tasks that will ultimately achieve our goal of saving the Scottish wildcat in the wild where it belongs.
