First of all thanks so much to everyone who has signed and shared this petition and a very warm welcome to all our new supporters. We have had messages of support from all over the world and it’s so heartening to now see that the plight of the magnificent Scottish wildcat is getting the audience it deserves.
We are a very welfare driven organisation avd care as much about individual animals as we do about species. Take the issue of dealing with hybridisation with domestic cats which is major risk to wildcats. We work with communities and neuter domestic cats rather than cull them which some other organisations do. This not only engages communities more but it actually works better in the long term and as we disease test at the same time, we actually hugely reduce the risk from diseases such as Feline Aids to the wildcats. This humane approach is an example of our compassionate conservation template.
