Imagine a child kicked and abused your dog whilst it cowered away, whining for help? Imagine a child threw your cat into the bushes and abused it for 8 minutes until it ran and hid under a car to escape the torment?

No animal should be harmed. Whether that is by a child or an adult. For obvious reasons, a five year old cannot be imprisoned or charged for abusing a defenseless animal, but their parents should be. Not only that, but the child should have to go through a course of behavioural therapy - which should be funded by the parents.

Who raises a child to hurt an animal? Someone needs to be held accountable and I propose to write to:

The Rt Hon. Liz Truss (JusticeMinister England & Wales)

Claire Sugden (Justice Minister Northern Ireland)

I want to contact them with as many signatures as possible to make him consider equal penalty for the parents of children who abuse animals as those adults who do so.
