The B833 from Garelochhead to Rosneath is I'm desperate need of some safety measures. Particularly crash barriers along the full stretch of road, road markings across the full stretch, replacement of the cats eyes, an upgrade to the drainage system, and existing laybys should be properly surfaced with tarmac. The road is already hazardous with cyclists, sheep and fallen branches on a winding country road with many dips and blind corners. During the winter months the heavy rain means that it is flooded in many parts every day. Teamed with darker days and headlights shining, it is almost impossible to see which side of the road you are actually on. There have been many accidents over the years, sadly some of which have ended in fatalities. It is an extremely busy route and often used by hgv's, which struggle to pass each other. A lorry had to be rescued just a few days ago as he had come off the road slightly to allow another to pass. Unfortunately for him, the heavy rain had made the bank a soggy mess and his truck ended up slipping down the embankment. Motorists should drive to the road conditions, however, even the most careful drivers could be seriously hurt or killed. Myself and another local had a tyre blow out on this road in the past two weeks. Luckily we were okay and able to continue with our lives. Others have not been so fortunate.
