Petition updateSave Australian literature: stop parallel importation of booksPetition deadline Wednesday 16 November

The Productivity Commission handed its final report on Intellectual Property Arrangements to the Government on Friday 23 September. While the report has not yet been made public (it will be released when the Government tables it in Parliament) we believe their recommendations regarding the parallel importation of books will not change. That’s why we’re making our own submission: a copy of this petition for every Federal MP and Senator. In addition, we’ll be having meetings with politicians from all sides of government to discuss the grave concerns raised by you, the nearly 19,000 signatories of this petition. In preparation for the petition hand-over, signatures will close at 5pm on Wednesday 16 November. We want to make it to at least 20,000 before then! That’s why we’re asking you, one last time, to share this petition on Facebook, on Twitter, via email and your other social media. Our campaign has already won many friends in government including Anthony Albanese MP, Senator Nick Xenophon and Senator Jacqui Lambie. With your help, we can win more! This will be the last chance for your friends and supporters to let the government know they support Australian books. Tell them to sign our petition today!
