Friends, yesterday's news that Priya, Nades, and Kopika have been granted bridging visas is another huge step in the long journey home for our beautiful family. But there's still no certain pathway home to Bilo. Tharni remains in community detention, which means the family is still trapped in Perth.
Six government MPs have already spoken up for Priya, Nades and the girls, but our Senators need to get behind this family too.
While we welcome Priya, Nades, and Kopika being granted bridging visas, I wonder what precisely is Minister Hawke’s objective in denying little Tharni one? This family must stay together, and they need to be back in Biloela as soon as humanly possible.
Friends, I know just how many of you hold this family in your hearts. You have helped get them to this moment. A few weeks ago, I wouldn’t have dared to dream that Priya and her family were just one more step from coming home. But your power, mixed with this family’s strength, and the love of Biloela, has helped make this happen.
Now, we need Mr Morrison and Mr Hawke to finally acknowledge that widespread support and end this long, painful saga for my dear friends.
Please, tap here to call your Senators. This is the moment. In the coming days, let’s not give up on Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharni when they need us the most.
With hope,
Angela
