“I’m sorry to see the circumstance, which is of their own making.”
That's what Mr Dutton has to say about his plan to force Priya, Nades and their QLD-born girls from Australia. It could happen as soon as February 1st.
Today, I need you to pick up the phone. Let’s show that Mr Dutton's negativity will never defeat our love for this family.
I know how much joy Kopika and Tharunicca brought to Priya and Nades’ lives when they were born in the Biloela Hospital.
So I was shocked to hear Mr Dutton claim that Priya and Nades “were told before they had children that they were not going to settle ever in Australia”.
The truth is that little Kopika was born in May 2015, a full two years before Mr Dutton first made a decision regarding Priya’s plea for safety. One month later, Tharunicaa was born.
Yesterday, I picked up the phone and spoke to one of Immigration Minister David Coleman’s staff. I told him (politely) how I felt about Mr Dutton’s comments. I told him that Mr Coleman MUST intervene on humanitarian grounds. He promised to pass on the message.
Today, will you pick up to phone to help me save this beautiful family?
I know a polite phone call doesn’t sound like much. But I truly believe that if all 165,000 of us who have signed this petition could find a minute to make that call, Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharunicaa would be home to Biloela in a flash.
Thank you for everything you are doing,
Angela xxx
