We are happy to report that at the Sept. 8th meeting the Dover Conservation Commission unanimously made a strong recommendation regarding the DHS athletic complex renovation that the base bid of natural grass be used for the baseball field, and that crumb rubber (shredded tires) not be used on any artificial turf included in the project.
The project is on the agenda for the Planning Board meeting Tuesday, Sept 23 at 7pm City Council Chambers.
It’s important for the public to contact the Planning Board and attend the meeting to urge them to accept the recommendations from the Conservation Commission, and condition the project on this criteria.
Our ask: That the Planning Board accept and enforce the recommendations from the Conservation Commission in their entirety.
Why this is important: The renovation is within a Secondary Groundwater Protection District, the recommendations from the Conservation Commission help limit the stormwater runoff and pollution from this project.
