Hi everyone! I have some important updates. I got in touch with US Congresswoman Nancy Mace's office. I spoke to the Legislative Correspandent in her office yesterday. He was super friendly, understanding, and ready to help. I explained to him I had to go about this differently. I started at the top and worked my way to the bottom when it comes to the chain of command. I told the Legislative Correspandent I have called, emailed, used regular mail, sent a post on Facebook, and etc. to get my local government's attention. According to the Legislative Correspandent, this is a problem statewide in South Carolina.

The Legislative Correspandent said he will reach out on my behalf and encourage my state Senator and state representative to respond to me. He also shared some of these individuals aren't in his political party so he may not work as closely with them, but he will definitely speak with other state Senators and state representatives within his political party and get their support on this issue.

The Legislative Correspandent asked if the problem is an isolated issue or a systematic problem. It is a systematic problem. He asked if I have support, and I said yes. I told him about the petition. I told him I can send him the link. Side note, we are 544 signatures strong. Please keep them coming! He asked if SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid made any corrections and I told him the problem is bigger than SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid. The problem is the law or guidelines that allow SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid misuse their power. I told the Legislative Correspandent about my official complaint to the SC Office of Inspector General, the Fair Hearings I attended in Columbia, SC to fight individual appeals, and the Hearing Officer's response at one of these Fair Hearings. The Hearing Officer said someone is "lying" and it isn't Mrs. Brown-Baker. I felt validated and that someone finally saw there is a problem with the Prepayment Claim Review process.

This entire movement is about change. This is not about Medicaid Fraud, Waste, or Abuse because I didn't committ a crime. But, what I learned is that SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid hides behind the false narrative that all medical providers commit Medicaid Fraud, Waste, or Abuse and SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid is "justified" to treat us (medical providers) like this. I am here to say loudly, that is not the case. Or, at least not on my watch. Some medical providers can honestly make a mistake with his/her paperwork. We are humans not robots. I will continue to fight the good fight and shed light on this. I am still calling on other mental health professionals to speak up and band with me, my counterpart in Greer/Greenville SC, you all (the petition supporters), and the truth! I have up my game. I have posted a link for our petition on Facebook along with a current strike in California. I posted on LinkedIn in a worldwide conversation about stop making excuses on toxic behaviors in the workplace. For example, the saying "that's just the way they are." In this case, me saying that's just the way SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid is. I am not accepting that, and I don't want you to either. I will continue to update you until we have a victory. Please keep me and the petition in your prayers because we are in the action phase of this. I am ready, but I need the support so thank you in advance!
