I have lived on Lake Wateree for the past 14 years....we always enjoyed the quiet afternoons with the sound of ducks swooping in on the water. It has been such a integral part of lake living........the lake has always been a bird sanctuary but 2 years ago duck hunting permission was started....someone told me this was a mistake but am not sure of that......the lake has an extensive river system below the dam where many duck hunters have hunted for years...I feed the ducks every day and had gotten to where I had close to 50 to 60 ducks swoop in and feed......in the spring we saw many many baby ducks....as of 2 years ago I have only seen  3 baby ducks this year and only 5 to 6 ducks come to feed. we love lake living and notice that lots of ducks on the islands are very tame due to people docking and feeding them......The ducks are literally coaxed in and hunted......this does not seem to be duck hunting when they are called and fed all summer and then ambushed upon ......please help me and fellow neighbors get the duck hunting stopped on the lake and get Lake Wateree back to a bird sanctuary as we have known in the past....
