The police are peace officers and are mandated by law to ensure same. Modern policing is intelligence led and it’s the collective duties of our communities to collaborate with these peace officers. But due to the altitude of some unscrupulous peace officers, the public is fast losing trust in the police service.
In fact, some of these Peace officers have become endangered spices in our communities brutalizing innocent citizens. I had my fair share of the brutalities only last week.
In order to rekindle this critical ingredient in modern policing- trust, we are on soul-searching by this campaign to seek justice for victim of police brutality in Ghana.
We will also team up with the Ghana Police service in the transformation agenda of the Inspector General of Police and use these victims narratives as a training manual to retool personnel of the service as part of their training.
