If LB 189 (NATURAL HAIRSTYLING) passes, non-professional and unlicensed Cosmetologists will eventually be allowed to perform some form of haircutting. Don't let them fool you. The plan is to slowly fracture your Cosmetology license.
LB 189 was sent to the Nebraska Health & Human Services Committee. Many of us testified against it. This unwelcome bill seeks to deregulate many of the professional services that you, as a professional, offer. Here is the link.

"Natural Hair Braiding" includes MINOR TRIMMING of natural hair.
"NATURAL HAIRSTYLING" means to shampoo, condition, dry, arrange, curl, or straighten hair using only mechanical devices such as blow dryers, combs, brushes, curlers, curling irons, blunt-tipped needles, thread, and hair binders. It also includes the use of hair sprays and topical agents, such as balms, oils, and serums, and the styling of hair extensions and wigs.
