Dear Supporters - help is needed urgently as the deadline is tomorrow 3rd Jan.
The Thurstaston Industrial Solar Farm Developers have submitted a Scoping Request, to the Council, for the EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment). This is not a full Planning Application yet, but is seeking to clarify the nature and scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment that they will be required to undertake as part of their Planning Application.
What is needed at THIS STAGE is comments on where the scope of “Chint Solar's” proposed EIA is deficient in the categories of Impacts to be assessed - either by exclusion or reduced extent.
It is very common for Developer’s to submit such Scoping Requests just before busy holiday periods. Perhaps they think the general public are just too distracted and too busy to comment? The deadline for comments is 3rd January 2026.
We've done the hard work – but we need as many people as possible to spare a few minutes to help.
Thankfully, our colleagues in the Wirral Green Space Alliance ( Thurstaston Group) and ITPAS (Irby Thursaston Pensby Amenity Society) have done all the hard work. They have assessed and analysed the Developer’s Scoping Request Submission and are of the opinion that the proposed scope of the required EIA is deficient in many respects. It is our opinion that the scoping report identifies substantive weaknesses, omissions, and inaccuracies that materially undermine the adequacy of the proposed EIA.
WGSA and ITPAS have worked tirelessly to produce a detailed response to the Scoping Request that has been submitted to the Council (so you don’t have to!)
What can you do to help?
The WGSA response is listed on the ITPAS website here:
https://www.itpas.org/solar-farm-destruction-of-wirral-green-belt/
Please read the WGSA response and if you agree with it then please email the Council and let them know that you agree with it. A template document is provided, on the ITPAS website, for you to email. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is to add your name and address to the template document and email (or post it) to the addresses on the template. It takes just a few minutes but will really help to make sure that the Developers MUST properly assess ALL the Environmental Impacts on this sensitive site.
Please share with all your friends family and neighbours too.
Please make sure you respond before the JANUARY 3rd DEADLINE.
Many Thanks for your support and we wish you a very Happy New Year
