Dear Neighbours,
I'm making you aware of an important change in our neighbourhood, Ahern Field is being renovated, and the City is stubbornly insisting on replacing the grass with turf. I'm strongly opposed to the change, but, as usual, the City is only pretending to listen to its citizens and, in the end, does what it wants. A neighbour has launched a petition against the proposed improvements and is asking me to share it. Hence, this update. I hope that, like me, you are not ok with the change to synthetic turf, especially if the only reason is easier maintenance. We live in a dense urban area where open space with real nature, i.e., real grass, real trees and flowers, is rare and far between. What we expect from our urban parks is a brief pause from the glass and concrete, i.e., NATURE, not synthetics.
Say yes to grass for our urban park!
