DFO Must Stop the Herring Fishery and Any Revenge Killings!

If the Herring Roe Fishery is permitted then the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) must have several enforcement vessels to stop the revenge killings of sea lions and seals.

Thomas Sewid, a former fish farm shooter and President of the group Pacific Balance Marine Management trying to start a West Coast Pinniped Slaughter Industry, wrote: “DFO charging this fisherman shall only ignite more anger from fishers of B.C. Hundreds if not thousands of seals and sea lions are sure to pay the price for this man being charged.”

In 2019, DFO left on March 14th then there was no cruelty monitoring of the herring fleet.

Since there will be about 200 vessels fishing day and night it would be impossible to stop all of these inhumane revenge killings. Therefore, the 2020 Herring Fishery should be stopped in order to protect the pinnipeds and this last herring population.

Please Protect the Pinnipeds, the Herring, the Salmon and the Orcas! Please Stop the Herring Fishery!
