EE Continues to ignore local residents
We have now seen the letter that M Group Telecom, EE’s agent have sent to local residents. It is extremely disappointing in terms of the requests that signatories of this petition have made to EE
You asked EE to:
Consult with residents on whether they want this mast. RESPONSE NOT DONE: While their letter is headed consultation, it is actually a long justification of why they want to site the mast at the end of Lower Road. It never asks residents to give their views on whether this is an appropriate place for a 15m mast and is not a consultation.
Seek the views of conservation experts on the appropriateness of the location. RESPONSE NOT DONE There is no evidence that they haver done this, despite previous applications having been turned down because of their impact on the conservation area.
identify other possible sites around Faversham where a mast of this size would have less impact. RESPONSE NOT DONE. There is no serious discussion of other locations although the justification for siting the mast at this location makes it clear that having a 15m mast like this is not ideal for coverage and the map provided seems to show that the two larger masts sited to the south of the A2 are far more effective in providing coverage than smaller masts.
One statement in the letter is that EE won’t start installation works before 6 July, As they have a traffic order from 6 July at this location it suggests this is when they will start installation work.
WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW
If you have received the letter we would urge to write to Natalie Satterthwaite at M Group Telecom as soon as possible expressing your concerns.
If you haven’t received a letter but live near the proposed site and will be impacted please let us know, so we can go back to M Group and point out that they haven’t honoured the commitment made to us about consultation.
If you know people who haven’t signed this petition yet but are opposed to the siting of this mast please encourage them to sign as soon as possible
