The 2019 ANU Centre for Social Research survey on “Big Australia, small Australia, diverse Australia: Australia’s views on population” has a lot of useful findings, including that 69.6% of respondents believe that Australia does not need more people. The survey report says this is a ‘dramatic increase’ from the results of a similar question in their 2010 survey. See p. 2 and p. 5.
