THE ONLY WAY WE CAN TAKE BACK LOCAL CONTROL OF OUR NEIGHBORHOODS IS TO TAKE BACK OUR STATE CONSTITUTION.

SB9, SB10 and SB478 – a new Senator Scott Wiener power grab – specifically override our constitution, which says, local government has the right to “make and enforce all ordinances and regulations in respect to municipal affairs.”  Article XI, Section 5

That includes planning and zoning. Since 2017, 67 housing bills have passed, each handing more power to Sacramento. It’s time to take back control.

An initiative has been submitted for the November 2022 ballot. If approved by voters, it would amend the California Constitution to protect the rights of communities to determine their own zoning and development projects. Local control would override state-imposed development mandates. 

Sacramento politicians follow the money from big developers, real-estate investors and construction unions. They benefit from housing laws that allow more luxury and market-rate housing on smaller and smaller lots. “Affordable housing” is not in their vocabulary.

Petitions are not enough to beat them. It will take MILLIONS $$$$$.
